Meet John Mclaughlin, DDS![]() Education And ResidencyHe earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Loyola University Maryland and went on to complete the rigorous science coursework required for dental school while serving in the Marine Corps Reserve. He later accepted a Navy scholarship to attend dental school and formally commissioned into the U.S. Navy, launching a decades-long career dedicated to service and surgical excellence. Dr. McLaughlin completed his General Practice Residency and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. Throughout his career, he has served on multiple deployments, including aboard aircraft carriers and overseas with both the Fifth and Sixth Fleets. A significant personal milestone was his return to serve at Marine Forces Command—a testament to his deep-rooted connection to the Marine Corps. Now nearing retirement from active duty, Dr. McLaughlin brings a wealth of clinical expertise and a strong commitment to patient care to P3 Oral Surgery. His surgical specialties include wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, cyst removal, and other complex oral procedures. His approach is centered on delivering compassionate, high-quality care that addresses both immediate needs and long-term outcomes for his patients. InterestsOutside of his professional life, Dr. McLaughlin enjoys surfing and staying active. He currently resides in Virginia with his wife and youngest son. He remains closely connected to his family in Philadelphia and is proud to continue serving his community through dentistry. ![]() |
